Been gone for a minute, oops! Friend just played this to me yesterday, seriously rad track and new band to check out. How To Destroy Angels - The Space In Between. It's Trent Reznor (of NIN) and his wife Mari Queen.

Dance with me baby

If you're like me and obsessed with music, you've got a different play list every week. I'm constantly on the prowl for new music and of course old music I haven't heard before (and always appreciate a heads up btw). I love coming across a song that I can't stop listening to, wake up singing it, go to bed thinking about it - like a new crush.

But with so much variety out there, you can miss hearing some really great tunage. I hope to expose you to as much as you can tolerate hearing. And in the process, hope you guys can introduce me to some of your favourites too. So here are some tracks for your listening pleasure this week. Just let it play...

I have a little fascination with this man (have you heard him sing?) If I ever met him I couldn't contain myself. And he is looking good lately, and it's about damn time. This is a just some random snippet backstage at a show.

dope dope dope

'Woohoo', another song from Christina's new album, its a club banger for sure. Its hot and waay over the top. I'm seriously loving her new stuff. This song is produced by Polow da don. He's behind London Bridge, Love in this club, Turnin me on by Keri hilson, and Rich boy's Throw some d's, which were also dope tracks. Featuring Nicki minaj (who I'm also starting to like).

Can't wait to hear the Peaches track.

Beyonce loves Brooklyn

Drjays posted this picture recently of Beyonce sporting a new tattoo. At least, I can only imagine it's new.

Hot hot hot

Perez just revealed Christina Aguilera's new video for Not Myself Tonight. He thinks it's a direct rip off of Lady gaga. She does have that futuristic-gaga style going on but a lot of people be rocking Lady gaga's fashions.

People have also been shocked at how raunchy Xtina is but she's always been that way. Three words: get over it. It's hot, enjoy!

mother

It's mother's day soon. Is it a co-incidence that I just heard Christina Aguilera's cover of Mother by John Lennon? I like it, it's moody and good listening. It's off the Save Darfur record.

Christina's got a new album out asap by the way. 'Not myself tonight' is Not my favourite. But I'll admit I am anticipating the video. A few snippets have been released and it looks very sexual with lingerie, grinding and girl on girl action, the way Xtina likes it.

Anyways, I bought my mum a toaster. What are you guys doing for mother's day?

chocolat

Perfect way to warm up in winter, drink hot chocolate. My favourite is Dark chocolate mint from Byron Bay coffee co. It's creamy so you don't need to add milk, or sugar although I like a teaspoon of honey in mine. They also have Gourmet and Chili cinnamon. It's been so freezing in Byron at night, this is just perfect.

Add a shot of Tia Maria, Kahlua or Frangelico for extra warmth.

Watch Chocolat and you'll be smokin.

Pharaoh-cious

I don't normally wear wooden jewelry but I saw these over at drjays from GoodWoodNYC. I like the earthy quality of wood but I also like that they've contrasted it with gold and bling. All pieces are hand sanded, painted and lasered. It just dropped on May 2nd and is only available at goodwoodnyc.

Kylie fever

Caught this on Rage the other day during a 80's - 90's throwback session. I used to love watching rage when i was a kid. German Bold Italic by Kylie Minogue & Towa Tei is a fairly unknown single from 1998. So unknown that I can't seem to buy the mp3 anywhere. It's very avant garde of her. Not for everyone. Can't wait for some new music from her by the way.

Play me

Been busy this week with work and school. But some music I've been listening to has taken me over lately.

Rihanna 'Photographs' featuring Will.i.am from her new album Rated R - it got average reviews but I've listened to it a bit more and there's definitely good tracks there. Rihanna's kind of a bad ass on some of them, its hot.

'Big Jet Plane' off the new Angus & julia stone album. I'm getting more into these 2 the more I hear of them.

Peter, Bjorn And John 'Objects of my affection'. These are the guys who did the 'we don't care about the young folks, talkin bout the young style' song. This ones a bit different to that but equally good, from an album in 2006.

Last one...

Deftones 'Ghosts' a David Sylvian cover from their new album Diamond eyes. This song is ri-dic-u-lous. Love that it's something different from these guys. I haven't heard Chino sing this way a lot and I like it.

Manolo's

The Carrie Diaries is out now. Sex & the city is easily one of my all time favourite tv shows. So I picked myself up a copy. For those that don't know, it's a prequel to the tv show from when Carrie was in high school. According to Candace Bushnell, Carrie's style was quirky and vintage compared to her later onscreen stylin (Dolce & Gabbana wasn't available yet in the 80's).

I found a sweet deal on dymocks.com.au to win a pair of Manolo Blahniks when you purchase the book. (You need a Booklover's card but you can sign up for one for free)

You gotta be in it to win it, innit.

Whatta say he

Ever wondered about women's fashion from a guy's point of view? fashionbyhe is a blog just like that. I like to know what guys think about what we're wearing. We might think we know better, we might be feeling all chic, but is it sexy? We can learn a thing or two.

New m.i.a.

New music by maya finally!! The single is called Born Free, b b b b born free. It's rockin. I'll be keen to hear the rest of the album though because I'm not sure this will be my favourite.

There is an official music video for it and it's pretty heavy. It's got an anti-war theme where the redheads retaliate.

Update: The music video has been banned by YouTube for being too violent!

Autumn

A perfect cocktail right now in this warm weather is hazelnut and lime (and it'll warm you up in winter too). Mmm so refreshing and delicious...

Serve in a glass with ice. Crush 1/2 lime over ice. Add 60 ml (2 shots) of Frangelico hazelnut liqueur. Mix. Enjoy.
Add soda water for a twist.

Mo

I've been seeing it around lately and I'm really digging the short hair, mo-hawk look. It's bad-ass and fearless. If only I had the guts to do it. I think you've got to cut your hair short at least once in your life though.

90's child

Showing some love with a little throwback to the 90's.

Plaid, baby doll dresses and over the knee socks were all the rage thanks to Clueless.

The Craft, one of my all time favourites, introduced us to gothic fashion and a tight sound track.

MTV was a music channel.

90210 was the original.

It was all that and a bag of chips.
